BarNone K9 incorporates five training components that will make training fun and effective:

• Strong Bond
• Clear marker system
• Consistency
• Timing
• Motivation

I believe that effective dog training requires developing a strong bond between dog and owner. The strong bond requires building a solid foundation so that you and your dog can exist in the real world. So how do we get there?

First, it is important to understand that every dog has a unique personality. A one size fits all approach will not work and it will only set you up for failure. My responsibility, with the help from the dog’s owner, is to figure out what motivates (food, toys, praise) your dog to learn.

Once we determine the motivation , we immediately begin creating a bond. We do this using several methods. One of the most common methods is to make ourselves the only people who provide the dog with their wants or needs.

Next, I start teaching a simple marker system. This clear line of communication will help us communicate appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, as well as critique your dog’s behavior, in a fair manner.

Then, we are ready to start teaching your dog specific behaviors using a reward/relationship based balanced approach. I will ensure that your dog fully understands a desired behavior by performing hundreds of repetitions using proper motivation and consistency.
