Desert Breeze Park is one of the largest parks in Clark County. This 240 acre park is located in Summerlin, on Durango and Spring Mountain, and features skate parks, baseball fields, soccer fields, and walking trails. The dog runs are located on the south side of the park off the park road and are accessible from either Durango or Spring Mountain. The dog runs include: benches, trees, waste receptacles and water taps.

Three dog runs are available seasonally to accommodate large and small dogs, and a large parking lot is available adjacent to the dog park. Weekday evenings are peak times. Weekends and holidays tend to be busy all day long.

Reviews of this dog park are mostly favorable, with some calling Desert Breeze Dog Park the best on the west side of Las Vegas. In addition to benches and picnic tables, the dog park features sturdy metal gazebos on concrete pads.

Though Desert Breeze Dog Park has three dog runs, most dog owners report only finding one or two runs open at a time. This is common for many parks in Las Vegas, as the parks occasionally need to be reseeded and the lawns sprayed with herbicide.

Dog Park Etiquette

  1. Dogs that are aggressive are not allowed in the park.
  2. Do not bring food or dog treats into the dog park. Many owners do not feed treats, and some dogs are allergic.
  3. Do not leave water bowls at the dog park. These are a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria.
  4. Please do not bring any toys that your dog may be overly attached to. These items may provoke possessive-aggressive behavior and can be destroyed through rough play.
  5. You must be in control of your dog at all times. Basic obedience training is a must for safely enjoying any dog park!
  6. Owners must clean up after their dogs. There are plastic bags and trash receptacles provided.
Please Note

Dogs must be on a leash and under owner's control in all county parks.

Owners whose dogs are off-leash will be given a warning, and will be cited for the second infraction. Owners whose dogs are off-leash and are deemed a threat by Park Police will be cited immediately with no warning. The citation carries a fine of $250.
